Building Amazing Machines—and Skills for Success in Life
Collaboration. Teamwork. Project Management. Communication. Critical Thinking. Creative Problem-Solving. Resilience. These are just some of the skills students develop through our award-winning Robotics program.
In Robotics, students in the Middle and Upper Schools design, build and program complex robots for competitions through VEX Robotics. In addition to learning engineering and computer programming, students in Robotics develop skills that will serve them well in their careers and lives.
The program was founded in 2010 by teaching fellow and alumnus Bryan Rich '06. Now an engineer at the team’s sponsor, AECOM, Coach Rich has led Kent Denver Robotics to national and international prominence with multiple state titles and VEX World Championship Awards.
“Robotics is not just a team, we’re a family,” says Coach Rich. “Many of this year’s seniors began working with me in their sixth-grade technology classes. It’s a rare privilege to collaborate with students for so many consecutive years, and I am grateful for the bonds we have formed.”
