Last week, AP and Advanced French students had the amazing opportunity to meet virtually with a Togolese diplomat, writer, poet and human rights activist. Germaine Anaté—the first female elected Minister of Culture/Arts—joined two class periods of students as they practiced their French conversation skills and learned about leadership, activism and social change. Students had the opportunity to ask Ms. Anaté questions and hear about her nonprofit, Coeur Solidaire, which defends human rights and promotes female empowerment and social justice.
