Swim & Dive Wins League, Eyes State

The Kent Denver swim and dive team has captured the Tri-Peak League championship for the first time since 2019! The Sun Devils turned in an incredible performance at the league meet this past weekend in Fountain, finishing first out of 10 teams with 911 total points to narrowly beat out 2nd-place St. Mary’s Academy (882 points). 

The team earned victories in the 200-yard medley relay (Reese ’28, Emily ’26, Valerie ’29, Hadley ’26), the 200 freestyle (Elsa ’28), 50 freestyle (Hadley), 100 butterfly (Elsa), 500 freestyle (Camryn ’27), 200 freestyle relay (Elsa, Camryn, Valerie, Reese) and 400 freestyle relay (Elsa, Hadley, Olivia ’29, Camryn). In other winter sports news, we’re excited that two of our senior athletes—Tristin and Caleb—were nominated for the 9NEWS Prep Rally Honor Roll Play of the Week! Vote for our Sun Devils!

Our defending state-champion boys basketball team has won nine straight games and will look to extend that streak to 10 with Thursday's matchup at Platte Canyon. The Sun Devils are currently ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by CHSAA, with the team averaging nearly 84 points per game on the season. 

Our girls basketball team is also on a tear—having won 11 of its last 14 games to move to 12-7 overall and No. 7 in Class 4A. The Sun Devils had a dominant 66-3 win over Prospect Ridge Academy on Tuesday and will now play St. Mary’s Academy Thursday at 6 p.m. in Yates Pavilion. 

The Kent Denver ice hockey team is 7-9-2 and playing its regular-season finale against Mullen High School at Magness Arena at 3 p.m. Thursday. Check out our Schedules & Scores page to stay up-to-date on all of our winter sports teams. Go Sun Devils!
