Sun Devils Inducted Into National Language Societies

Sun Devils Inducted Into National Language Societies

New this year, Kent Denver is pleased to recognize high-achieving Chinese and French language students by inducting them into their respective honor societies.

Last week, juniors Jakoby, Ian and Juju were recognized as the first members of Kent Denver’s inaugural National Chinese Honor Society. As part of a small ceremony attended by family, classmates and members of the Middle School Chinese 1A class, the three inductees took an oath to continue striving to learn the Chinese language and understand Chinese culture. They also shared advice from their language experiences with the younger students in attendance.

On Thursday, April 30, our French classes held a similar ceremony as 10 Sun Devils were inducted into Kent Denver’s first National French Honor Society. Congratulations to Gabriella ’27, Amelie ’26, Johnny ’26, Delali ’26, Eli ’27, Brady ’26, Suleman ’26, Sabrina ’26, Ethan ’27 and Maddox ’27, who reflected on their language journey thus far and shared their hopes for the future in front of an audience of classmates and the Middle School French 1A class.

While celebrating our upper schoolers' incredible cultural and linguistic milestones, these induction ceremonies also serve as an encouragement to our middle schoolers about the power of pursuing a second language.
