Sun Devils Compete in Math Contests
Sun Devils Compete in Math Contests
Each year, our Middle and Upper School students have the chance to show off their math skills by participating in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC). This is a national math competition sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America.
On Wednesday, January 22, a group of middle schoolers met early before school and tackled a number of multiple choice math problems and then celebrated with donuts. The Middle School hosts AMC 8 each spring semester, while the Upper School hosts AMC 10/12 competitions in the fall. The Upper School’s top scorers from last semester were:
AMC 10:
1. Akhil A. ’27
2. Arwen L. ’27
3. John C. ’28
AMC 12:
1. Clay T. ’25
2. Xanthe R. ’26
3. Nathan T. ’26
Upper School students also had the opportunity to attend Colorado State University’s Math Day in November, where our two teams made it to the quarterfinals. Congrats to all of our dedicated math students for their hard work!
