Spring Sports Are In Full Swing
We’re about halfway through the spring season, and several of our teams are on a roll. Varsity baseball is riding a four-game winning streak in which they have outscored their opponents 51 to 12! Their 7–1 record marks one of the team’s best starts ever.
Varsity girls tennis is undefeated and looking to repeat their state title from a year ago under the leadership of seniors Lila Moldenhauer, Victoria S., Annie Goldmanis, Samantha B. and Margaux Lively. Girls soccer (4-1), under new coach Jeb Borvansky, is on a three-game winning streak after a rout of The Academy on Tuesday in which Hadley Carrington ‘26 and Kyky O’Connor ‘27 had five goals each.
On the track, our athletes are breaking records and making headlines. Alex H. ’26 shattered the school's 100m hurdles record and is now ranked #1 in CHSAA Class 3A. She also set a new school record for the 300m hurdles, earning her the #2 spot in Class 3A. Meanwhile, Dylan Khailer ’26 broke the 200m dash school record and currently holds the #1 state ranking across all classifications for this event.
Here’s a look at the Track and Field team, by the numbers so far this season:

- 2 Performances currently ranked #2 in Class 3A

Kent Denver is all over the CHSAA Class 3A top 10 rankings. After winning his latest event, Solo Morrell ‘26 is currently ranked #2 in the 110m hurdles with a finishing time one-hundredth of a second off his school record. He is also ranked #9 in the 200m dash. The 4x400 relay team of Eliana Carr ‘26, Elise Sankel ‘26, Charlotte Holtze ‘27 and Taylor G. ‘27 are ranked #7 after a 3rd-place finish at their last race. In the 400m race, Maddox Thomas ‘27 set a personal record and is now ranked #7 among Class 3A boys, while Scarlett Covell ‘27 has continued with her strong performances from a year ago and currently ranks #9 among the girls. Last but not least, senior Molly Zann’s latest performances have her ranked #7 in the 800m and #10 in the 1600m.
The Sun Devils girls golf braved chilly conditions in Tuesday’s Metro League match, earning a solid 5th place team finish. Team captain Josee Lurcott ‘25 led the way with an impressive round of 82, securing 5th place individually. Kaia Chand ‘28 followed close behind, carding an 85 to claim 8th place overall.
Girls lacrosse is 2-4 after a hard-fought loss against ThunderRidge on Tuesday. Currently, the Sun Devils’ leading goal-scorers are Harper Calkins ‘28 and Parker Swanson ‘25. Boys lacrosse holds a 1-5 record as the team looks to find its footing early in the season. Seth Oxley ‘25 currently leads the team in scoring with an average of 2.3 goals per game.
