Speech & Debate Team Travels to ASU

Kent Denver’s Speech & Debate team had a great start to the second semester as they traveled to Tempe to compete in Arizona State University’s Hugh Downs School of Human Communication Invitational this past weekend. With more than 1,000 entries from nearly 90 schools across the country, Kent Denver faced some great competition, and the following students had standout performances:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Isabel ’27 - Double Octafinalist
Akhil ’27 - Quarterfinalist, 4th overall speaker 
Cian ’26 - Runner-up, 12th overall speaker 

Impromptu Speaking
Suleman ’26 - Quarterfinalist

Dramatic Interpretation
Clara ’28 - Semifinalist

Congratulations to these Sun Devils, as well as the entire team for a great showing! This tournament was just the start of a busy second semester. From January 24 through mid-March, the Speech & Debate team has a tournament every weekend.
