Speech & Debate Crowns Three Tournament Champions

Speech & Debate Crowns Three Tournament Champions

Our Speech and Debate team has had an amazing showing recently—with three Sun Devils claiming the coveted tournament champion award over the course of a week.

On Saturday, February 14, our team attended the Rebel Invitational at Columbine High School. Sam ’27 placed first and was named tournament champion in International Extemporaneous, while Suleman ’26 took second. Eli ’27 also placed second in Dramatic Interpretation, and Tyler ’27 placed fifth in Original Oratory.

The following Saturday, February 21, two Sun Devils claimed the top spot at the Falcon Fiesta hosted at Highlands Ranch High School. Noah ’26 (United States Extemporaneous) and Lauren ’26 (Lincoln-Douglas Debate) were both named tournament champions, while Victoria ’28 (Informative Speaking) and Suleman (International Extemporaneous) took second in their categories. A huge congratulations to these Sun Devils on a job well done!

Our Speech & Debate team looks to keep this positive momentum moving forward as students prepare for state March 6-7, followed by the National Qualifying Tournament. Good luck, Sun Devils!
