Kent Denver’s Gates Science and Magness Technology Centers officially re-opened for classes on Tuesday, September 3.
Over the summer, the school undertook a significant remodel of the building to accommodate growing student interest in science and to bring the facility up to the level of our other campus learning spaces. Highlights of the remodel include:
- Modernization of all existing classrooms and offices, including new lighting, furnishings and equipment
- Creation of a second dedicated chemistry classroom and a significantly larger classroom for advanced biology courses
- Expansion of the design/build studio used by physics, engineering and other courses
- Creation of a dedicated research space for independent study and Innovation Scholar student projects
- Installation of a new roof and HVAC systems
Kent Denver's science teachers were excited to welcome back Upper School students to these new and improved spaces for another great year of learning!
The renovation of Gates & Magness is the first of four capital improvement projects planned through 2027—all of which will contribute to elevating excellence at Kent Denver.
