Postseason Push Continues for KDS Athletics

Postseason Push Continues for KDS Athletics

It’s an exciting time for Kent Denver Athletics, with late-season and postseason competition taking place nearly every day this week for our varsity sports teams.

The girls cross country team is gearing up for the CHSAA 3A State Championship meet this Saturday, November 1 at 2:20 p.m. at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. The team qualified for state after a strong third-place finish at last week’s regional meet, with Penny ’28 (10th place) and Noelle ’27 (15th place) both finishing in the top 15 individually.

Our No. 3-seeded field hockey team got a huge 8-0 win over Grandview in the first round of the 5A state playoffs on Tuesday, with Alden ’28 netting a hat trick and Maya ’29 adding two goals. The Sun Devils are back in action Thursday at 3:30 p.m. on Horn Family Field in a quarterfinal matchup against No. 6 Denver East.

The Kent Denver boys soccer team won its first-round playoff game on Wednesday by a score of 4-0 against Delta. The Sun Devils—the No. 4 seed in CHSAA’s 3A State Tournament bracket—will now play against No. 13 DSST: Conservatory Green in the second round on Tuesday, November 4 at 2:30 p.m. on DeSo Field.

Kent Denver’s varsity football team is now 7-1 and ranked No. 5 in Class 2A after losing to No. 1 Strasburg last week. The Sun Devils have their regular season finale Friday in a big matchup at No. 6 Elizabeth High School at 7 p.m.

After a 3-2 win over Colorado Springs Christian and a 3-2 loss to Bennett this week, the Kent Denver volleyball team has its regular season finale Thursday at 6 p.m. in Yates Pavilion against Denver Christian. Regionals begin Saturday, November 8

Be sure to cheer on all of our varsity sports teams as we aim to finish the fall athletics season strong! Stay updated on all Kent Denver games and competitions on our Schedules & Scores page and the Kent Denver Athletics Instagram.
