Opening Day Celebration Kicks Off New School Year

Opening Day Celebration Kicks Off New School Year

The Kent Denver 2024-25 school year is officially underway! The Opening Day celebration is one of our favorite long-standing school traditions. Every year on the first day of school, seniors dress up in a special theme and line the driveway to cheer on their classmates as they arrive on campus.

This year, the Class of 2025 chose the theme: Don’t Stop Believing.

After the driveway festivities, students gathered in Chenery Amphitheatre for an all-school assembly. Head of School David Braemer addressed our community first, welcoming our newest students and sharing some advice for the year ahead. We then got to hear from all-school presidents Mia Fitzpatrick ’25 and Maggie Frampton ’25, who spoke more about this year’s theme—including the importance of enjoying each moment and continuing to dream big.

Check out the highlights from Opening Day with the video below, which also includes interviews from seniors sharing what they love most about this annual tradition on the first day of school. Click here for the full remarks from Mr. Braemer’s address.
