Model UN Competes in Copenhagen

Model UN Competes in Copenhagen

Our Model UN team was back on campus Thursday following a successful conference in Copenhagen, Denmark and a whirlwind journey home.

Nineteen students from our Sun Devils Model United Nations (SUNMUN) program attended BIGMUN, an international conference hosted annually by Birkerød Gymnasium from February 18-22. SUNMUN had an impressive showing, highlighted by two students receiving Best Delegate Awards. Congratulations to Noa ’26 and Sohan ’27 on this impressive accomplishment!

When not meeting students from around the world during negotiations, our Sun Devils made the most of the cold weather and explored the beautiful city of Copenhagen through walking tours and visits to a castle and art museum. On the journey back home, the team spent an unexpected two nights in Iceland, enjoying delicious local cuisine and experiencing the famous Sky Lagoon thermal baths. Everyone came to embrace Iceland’s unofficial motto, “Þetta Reddast,” which roughly translates to “it will all work out.”

Looking ahead, SUNMUN will round out the semester with two more local conferences in March and April.
