Middle-Schoolers Visit NASA Over Spring Break

Middle-Schoolers Visit NASA Over Spring Break

During spring break, 17 middle-schoolers had an experience that was truly out of this world! Thanks to Dr. Jay Lemery, a KDS parent who works at NASA, the students were able to embark on a behind-the-scenes visit to NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.

During their visit, the students met with working astronauts and toured facilities that are not open to the public. Highlights included a tour of NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab—one of the world’s largest pools where astronauts train in a weightless underwater environment—and the Space Vehicle Mock-up Facility—a full-scale training mock-up of the International Space Station.
