Middle Schoolers Attend Circle STAMP Conference

Earlier this month, Kent Denver Middle School students once again had the opportunity to attend Circle’s annual STAMP (Students Taking Action and Making Progress) Conference. Twelve Kent Denver 7th and 8th grade students joined middle schoolers from across the Denver metro area in attending workshops created and led by high school students on topics related to equity, leadership, healing and inclusiveness. 

This year’s conference centered around the theme Using Our Fire to Inspire and featured keynotes from Kimberly Ming, an author, and Ashley Cornelius, a poet. Students learned more about themselves and developed the tools needed to build more responsive communities at their school.

“The STAMP conference is a wonderful experience for learning, meeting new people and having fun,” said Brooklyn T. ’30, one of the 12 KDS attendees. “I learned about leadership, community, inequalities and more. If you want to help the world, this is where you should start your journey. STAMP teaches important things to kids before they become the leaders of the world.”
