Kent Denver Welcomes Hoops Legend Ann Strother Abromaitis as New Girls Basketball Coach
Kent Denver is delighted to introduce our new girls basketball coach, Ann Strother Abromaitis.
Regarded as one of Colorado’s all-time best prep basketball players, Coach Abromaitis was a National High School Player of the Year, a two-time NCAA champion, a professional athlete in the WNBA, and a gold medalist with Team USA in the 3 vs. 3 World Championships. Coach Abromaitis is also a highly accomplished medical professional, currently working as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner at CU Sports Medicine.
“Although her basketball and professional accomplishments are beyond impressive, it is Coach Abromaitis’s deep love of the game and excitement to share that love with our Kent Denver Sun Devils that will be most impactful for our program,” Athletics Director Jeff Hollway wrote in a letter to the team and their parents. “I know she will be an exceptional leader and example for our girls this season and for many seasons to come.”
When asked about her mindset in starting this new position, Coach Abromaitis told us, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to coach this group of young women, and I am looking forward to building on the strong basketball community at Kent Denver.”
