From November 10-12, Upper School students in our Girls Advancing in STEM (GAINS) club traveled to Carnegie Mellon University for a three-day national conference that connects high school girls interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with role models working in professional fields.
This year, Kylie B. ’25, Isabella C. ’26, Delali G. ’26, Siena K. ’25, Alexa Q. ’25 and Ishani S. ’25 attended the conference, which included small-group technical talks, STEM workplace tours, a career mixer and events that help high school girls build a network of peers and role models in STEM!
"I absolutely love participating in the GAINS trip every year,” said Kylie, the club’s student leader. “This is my third time, and every year, I get exposure to new female high school students, new STEM careers and inspiring role models."
