French Students Visit Denver Art Museum

Over the past few weeks, Kent Denver’s upper school French classes have taken field trips to the Denver Art Museum to experience the blockbuster exhibit The Honest Eye: Camille Pissarro’s Impressionism. After studying the cultural importance of French Impressionism in Kent Denver’s classroom, students explored both the Pissarro exhibit and works from DAM’s well-regarded 19th-century European collection.

Ms. Cain’s field trip had the added benefit of a personal tour by Timothy Standring, an artist and art historian with a long career as a curator for the Denver Art Museum. His expertise helped students gain a deeper understanding of the evolution of 19th-century French art, the significance of the Impressionist movement and the remarkable work of Camille Pissarro.
