Boys Tennis Wins Regionals

Kent Denver boys tennis has had a fantastic week, culminating in a team sweep at Regionals! Just a few days after the Sun Devils won their quarterfinal matchup 6-1 against Vail Christian in the 4A team state tournament last weekend, Kent Denver had a perfect showing at the individual regional tournament Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10—taking first place in all seven individual categories.

The Kent Denver boys golf team just wrapped up its season at the CHSAA 3A state tournament earlier this week. The Sun Devils took 13th place in the state, with all three golfers (Joe C. ’25—41st place; John E. ’26—55th place; Simon C. ’25—59th place) placing in the top 60 individually.

Our five other varsity sports teams are all back in action Thursday, October 10! KDS cross country was underway as of 3:30 p.m. at Anthem Park, competing in the 2024 Metro League Championships. The Sun Devils are coming off an impressive performance last weekend in Aspen at the Chris Severy Invitational, where the girls took first place as a team and the boys came in fourth. The girls race featured four Sun Devils placing in the top 10 individually, with Molly Z. ’25 coming in third place, Noelle M. ’27 taking fourth, Penny K. ’28 taking sixth and Sylvana Y. ’27 coming in eighth. In the boys race, Maddox T. ’27 led the way for Kent Denver with a fourth-place finish.

KDS Field Hockey

Boys soccer is 7-4 and ranked No. 7 in Class 3A heading into Thursday's game against Forge Christian at 4 p.m. on DeSo Field. The No. 5 ranked Kent Denver field hockey team is also playing Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Denver East, where the Sun Devils hope to improve to 8-5 on the year.

Later Thursday evening, our Sun Devils volleyball team—which is 8-8 on the season—is playing on the road at 6:30 p.m. against Eagle Ridge Academy. Thirty minutes later, the Kent Denver football team has a road matchup with Englewood High School at 7 p.m. The Sun Devils head into the game 3-2 overall after a shutout win last week against Hinkley.

Good luck to all of our teams who are in action Thursday! Be sure to check out our Schedules & Scores page for updates throughout the rest of the regular season and the state playoffs over the next several weeks.
