Congratulations to the Kent Denver boys tennis team for winning its fourth consecutive state championship! In the dual-style 4A team state tournament at Denver Tennis Park on Tuesday, our Sun Devils defeated Colorado Academy 4-2 in a thrilling finish to capture the team’s 14th state title in program history. After victories from Nathan G. ’25 (No. 1 Singles), Noah B. ’27 and Liam O. ’26 (No. 1 Doubles), and Colton F. ’25 and Vyaan C. ’28 (No. 3 Singles), Kent Denver secured the necessary fourth win in the best-of-seven format when Jack C. ’25 had a terrific match-sealing shot down the left line—capping off a win with Simon H. ’25 in No. 2 Doubles and delivering another state title for the Sun Devils.
With another trophy coming to our school, Kent Denver Athletics has now won at least one team state championship every school year for 29 straight years.
Speaking of hardware, Kent Denver also won four individual titles and three state-runner ups at the individual state tournament in Pueblo over the weekend. Congratulations to Nathan G. ’25 (No. 1 Singles—first place), Will M. ’25 (No. 2 Singles—first place), Max G. ’25 (No. 3 Singles—second place), Noah B. ’27 and Liam O. ’26 (No. 1 Doubles—first place), Jack C. ’25 and Simon H. ’25 (No. 2 Doubles—first place), Colton F. ’25 and Vyaan C. ’28 (No. 3 Doubles—second place), and Reid C. ’26 and Cabot M. ’25 (No. 4 Doubles—second place).
