A Thanksgiving Tradition: 6th Graders Make Pies

A Thanksgiving Tradition: 6th Graders Make Pies

After learning about civics and participating in a gratitude activity during advisory on Monday, Kent Denver’s 6th grade class put what they learned into action Thursday morning, whipping up pies for Capitol Hill Community Services. Carrying on the beloved Kent Denver tradition, each of our 80 students made either an apple or a pumpkin pie, which will be served alongside a turkey meal by members of Kent Denver’s boys and girls varsity basketball teams at Trinity United Church in downtown Denver over Thanksgiving break. This is a tradition that has been going strong for over 30 years!
