6th Graders Showcase Mining Projects

6th Graders Showcase Mining Projects

On Monday, February 3, Kent Denver’s 6th graders showed off their mining projects for history class. Since the beginning of the semester, the students have been working in groups to research different Colorado mining towns and their histories. Each 6th grade team was given a specific mine and was tasked with demonstrating the mining process, the culture in the mining town, the geography of the area and the effects on the environment. The groups then built an interactive mining exhibit in the Middle School Impact Studio. The project culminated in a grade-wide showcase in Kuntz Commons and the Centennial Center where students were able to explain their displays to classmates, families and other guests.
