2024 Summer Camp Registration is Now Live!

2024 Summer Camp Registration is Now Live!

Registration for our 2024 summer camps is now open! This year, Summer at Kent Denver has over 100 offerings for kids ages 4-18 in the Arts, Academics, Innovation and Technology, Athletics and our Tiny Farm Day Camp. Camps begin June 3 and run through July 26. Browse through our amazing offerings and be sure to sign up soon, as camps are already filling up fast!

Two camps offer a semester of credit for students at Kent Denver. Dr. Eric Chandler is once again teaching his Summer Shakespeare class, a two-week program for grades 10-12 where students will read some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays and compose and act out their own scenes. Middle School Dean Mr. Wes Ballantyne is also offering a two-week class for grades 10-12 called The Power of Water: A Critical Look at Water in the West—where campers will have the opportunity to visit and camp near the headwaters of the Colorado River. Students will get an English credit for the Shakespeare class and a History credit for the Power of Water camp.

Everyone's favorite Tiny Farm Day Camp returns in 2024, with six weeks of camps available for kids ages 7-10 to safely interact with farm animal friends and learn about gardening and cultivating the earth. New this year on the farm: KDS science teacher Mr. Ryan Gray is teaching a camp called Ecology of the Tiny Farm. Unlike our other farm opportunities for younger campers, this camp is for students in grades 5-7 who love plants and animals, outdoor learning, canoeing and environmental science.

In Athletics, students can choose from a variety of new and returning sports camps to build their skills this summer. New varsity girls basketball coach and former WNBA player Coach Ann Strother Abromaitis will be leading her first girls basketball camp at Kent Denver for grades 2-8 at the end of June. Rising sixth- and seventh-grade boys can check out our cool new baseball camp led by teaching fellow Mr. Tim Barry. And of course, there are our usual amazing middle school sports options in boys and girls lacrosse, field hockey, boys and girls soccer, football, volleyball, tennis and boys basketball.

In the Performing Arts, campers ages 16 and up can take to the main stage this summer for A Midsummer Night’s Musical Dream. The original musical—based on the Shakespeare classic—will be directed by Summer at KDS Director Ms. Lee Lee Newcomb. It's one of many incredible musicals and plays available to both upper and middle schoolers this summer!

There are plenty of great ways for students to learn, grow and innovate this summer beyond the classroom. That includes Academics, Innovation and Technology classes for grades 6-8 in Kent Denver’s Impact Studio, like the one taught by Innovation Specialist Ms. Dorothy Lee called Design, Build and Code—Mini-City Edition—where students participate in designing a skyscraper or house that will be laser cut from plywood. Fellow Office of Innovation team members Mr. Cody Candler and Mr. Nick Weingardt will help students design model cars to handle increasingly difficult courses in Ready Race Design-Makerspace Fun!

Our Academic camps also include returning offerings, such as Speech and Debate, with History teacher and Director of Speech and Debate Mr. Mike Bausch, as well as new options like The Room of Intrigue—Creative Writing and More with English teacher Mr. David Marais. Students looking to improve their language skills can check out Advanced Chinese Language and Cinema Workshop with Ms. Amanda Lin, where students will explore topics like food, family and love in both ordinary life and contemporary Chinese films.

Whatever your student’s interest, there’s summer fun for everyone. Head to our website to learn more!
