Student Entrepreneurs Shine at Inaugural Innovation Creation Competition
Kent Denver is bringing a new level of self-directed learning and fun to its biannual Innovation Symposium: Student Agency.
Every fall and spring semester, the Innovation Symposium highlights the work of Innovation Scholar and Independent Study students through a gallery of poster presentations. During the spring 2024 edition of the Innovation Symposium, Kent Denver hosted the inaugural Innovation Creation Competition, which saw a number of students and groups pitch their product ideas to a panel of judges. From jewelry to clothing and more, students detailed the need for their product, presented their prototype and answered questions.
Through judge deliberations and an audience vote, the entrepreneurial ideas were awarded a monetary prize. Congratulations to Charlie S. ’24 for winning the competition with his jewelry brand, Half Pine. He was awarded $200 for first place. Anders M. ’25 and Luke G. ’25 won $100 and placed second for their clothing brand, KickRocks, and Jamie K. ’26, Kian L. ’26, Liam O. ’26 and Nathan T. ’26 won audience choice and $50 for their QuickCharge computer case.
The Innovation Creation Competition will continue this fall.
