State Championship Streaks Continue

State Championship Streaks Continue

Kent Denver Athletics has now won at least one state championship every school year for 29 consecutive seasons—a nearly three-decade run of dominance that was extended this fall by another impressive state title streak from the boys tennis team.

Boys Tennis Team with State Championship Trophy

The Sun Devils captured their fourth consecutive championship in late October with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Colorado Academy in the 4A boys tennis dual team state tournament. Kent Denver also won four individual state titles in No. 1 Singles (Nathan Gold ’25), No. 2 Singles (Will Moldenhauer ’25), No. 1 Doubles (Noah Bogel ’27 and Liam O’Drobinak ’26) and No. 2 Doubles (Jack Cramer ’25 and Simon Hirsch ’25). To top it off, Nathan Gold and head coach Ian Hintz won boys tennis Player and Coach of the Year in Class 4A!

Boys varsity tennis was the highlight of what was a terrific all around season this fall for Kent Denver Athletics. The Sun Devils field hockey team had an amazing playoff run to finish as the state runner-up. Boys soccer made it all the way to the quarterfinals. In cross country, the girls team qualified for the state championship meet—placing ninth overall. The boys golf team took 13th place in the state. The football and volleyball teams barely missed out on the state playoffs.

The winter sports season is also off to a great start for the boys basketball, girls basketball, ice hockey and swimming and diving teams! Keep an eye on the Schedules and Scores page for updates throughout the year.

Looking ahead to the next level, 12 student-athletes in the Class of 2025 have already announced their plans to continue their playing careers in college. See the full list from our December Signing Day celebration here, and stay tuned for more college recruiting news this spring!
