Designing for the Inauguration: Ali O'Neill '04
Kent Denver was proud to learn that fashion designer Ali O'Neill '04 and her company, Markarian, had the honor of dressing Dr. Jill Biden for the January 20, 2021 inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. "I am humbled to be even a small part of this momentous day in American history," O'Neill wrote on the @markarian_nyc Instagram.
We were also thrilled to host Ali at a Zoom event in February. In addition to sharing her behind-the-scenes perspective on what it's like to design for a historic and global media event, Ali talked about her early fashion influences, being a small business owner in a competitive industry, and how her Colorado childhood and school experiences still impact her today. She also responded to questions from an audience of over 200 alumni, students, faculty and parents!
If you'd like to watch a recording of the event, you can find it online here.
