Tennis

Kent Denver boys tennis teams have won 12 State Championships—most recently in October 2022—and have finished as State Runners-Up an additional seven times. Sun Devils athletes also won four individual state titles in 2022 and had every competitor from #1 singles through #4 doubles finish on the podium.

Kent Denver was excited to welcome accomplished tennis professional Ian Hintz as the school’s boys tennis coach at the start of the 2022-23 fall season. With over 20 years of experience at clubs around the country, Hintz helped lead the school to one of its most successful seasons ever and was named CHSAA's 4A Coach of the Year!

"I love helping players learn how to truly enjoy the game of tennis as a lifelong sport, and I love how all of the lessons the game teaches us on the court are applicable to our daily lives off the court,” Hintz says.

Coach Hintz has directed the racquet sports programs (tennis, platform tennis, pickleball) at several facilities over his career. He loves to compete in all racquet sports and is nationally ranked in platform tennis (aka paddle).

Coach Hintz moved to Colorado in 2010 and has been actively involved in helping Coloradans enjoy racquet sports as fun and lifelong activities.
