THE TINY FARM

OUR MISSION: The Tiny Farm at Kent Denver School is an outdoor educational teaching space offering hands-on learning opportunities and experiences in sustainability, land health, gardening, animal husbandry, land stewardship and student wellness as it connects to the community and the Summer at Kent Denver program. The Tiny Farm is located on the western edge of campus and features a beautiful organic garden, blooming orchard, and, during the summer months, chickens, goats, rabbits and a pony or two! Originally created to host a day camp for Summer at Kent Denver, the Tiny Farm now inspires students, parents, alumni and members of the community to learn about sustainability, animal care, best-practice land use, gardening and community.

In the Summer of 2023, close to 600 students ages 4-12 years experienced various camps at the Tiny Farm. With a focus on sustainability, partnerships with several elementary schools have begun and are continuing to be developed for the fall.

During the school year, various Kent Denver groups—including the Tiny Farm Club, middle school electives, the Kent Denver Daycare, Middle and Upper School academic classes, independent study opportunities, advanced seminars in sustainability, service groups and parent volunteers—support and work on the Tiny Farm.

It is exciting to see what the Tiny Farm will bring to the Kent Denver and wider communities in 2023!

Parent Involvement

Parent supervisor and leader Amanda Prager helps coordinate various Kent Denver parent and community volunteering opportunities at the Tiny Farm throughout the year! You can find parents clearing brush in the spring, tending to the garden in the summer, pressing apples into cider in the fall and more.
