Over the course of 20 years at Kent Denver, boys' tennis coach Randy Ross has taken his program to unrivaled heights. His teams have won nine State Championships—including in each of the last four years—and taken State Runner-Up an additional seven times.
For Coach Ross, high school sports are all about making friends while having fun, learning life skills and staying active.
"Tennis is a game and games are meant to be fun," he says. "I believe in the games approach to learning. Learning to show respect along the way for the game, yourself, and your opponent."
Coach Ross has had many highlights over his 20-year career at Kent Denver, "but the biggest highlight is having the opportunity to touch the lives of over 1,000 Kent students over the past 20 years through the sport of tennis," he says.
In 2016, the boys' tennis team had nine players named to the CHSAA first team All State.
