Our students are allowed to participate in athletic activity outside of the sports that Kent Denver offers during the school year. In the past, students have competed in everything from figure skating to martial arts, ski racing to dance.
Since we strive to give our students a well-rounded education, students must meet certain criteria for independent sports to fulfill an athletic requirement. These include extended involvement in the sport, comparable instruction and hours of instruction as students would receive from our athletic department, and a schedule of competitions and/or performances.
Generally, students who choose to play a club sport or other activity outside of school will not receive Kent Denver Credit if it is a sport or activity that we currently offer.
Interested in pursuing an independent sports credit? Please fill out the forms below and return them to Richard Judd, Associate Director of Athletics.
For Middle School independent sport requests please contact Stephanie Kyser, Assistant Director of Athletics - Middle School Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org.
