Scott Yates, who serves our school as both Athletic Director (AD) and as Head Football Coach, has announced that he will retire from one of those roles—AD—in June 2020.

Coach Yates is a Kent Denver icon who holds both a Master’s degree in educational administration and a Colorado principal’s license!

He was hired by Kent Denver as a teacher, coach and advisor in 1981, and he performed those duties—as well as those of a college counselor and administrator—for the next two decades. He was named Athletic Director in 2001.

During his tenure as AD, Coach Yates elevated our standards for coaches’ expertise and professionalism, encouraged the advancement of girls’ sports and galvanized support for athletic facility upgrades. Our student-athletes brought home 46 state championships while representing our school in more than 13,000 competitive sporting events during this time.
