Girls BasketballThe Kent Denver girls basketball team is soaring up the ranks on the Colorado preps scene. A regular in the state tournament, the Sun Devils had their best season ever in 2026, finishing as the state runner-up in Class 4A.

The program also made a Final Four appearance in 2017-2018, when the Sun Devils finished with an impressive overall record of 21-4.

Kent Denver welcomed Colorado basketball legend Ann Strother Abromaitis as the new girls basketball coach for the 2023-24 season. Regarded as one of the state's all-time best prep basketball players, she led our Sun Devils to the Sweet 16 in each of her first two seasons at the helm. Then in her third year, the Sun Devils had their best finish in school history, making it all the way to the 4A state title game.

More important than on court success, however, is the valuable life lessons learned by those who come through Kent Denver's 6th-12th grade program. Players will come to appreciate both the successes and challenges that come with competition, while embracing core values such as teamwork and sportsmanship.
