FootballAt the start of the 2022-23 season, Kent Denver proudly welcomed Riley Newcomer to usher in an exciting new era of Sun Devils football.
Coach Newcomer believes that a dynamic athletics and wellness program is essential to the overall growth and development of all students, and he is committed to continuing the Kent Denver football tradition of guiding players to develop a strong sense of teamwork, character and personal responsibility on and off the field.
The Sun Devils have a history of excellence in Colorado—with three state championships, two state runner-ups, nine semifinal appearances and 24 league championships. Their recent success has only added to their strong reputation around the state.
In 2023, Coach Newcomer was named Colorado League Coach of the Year after leading Kent Denver to an undefeated regular season. Two years later in 2025, he helped the team advance to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. The Sun Devils hope to keep that positive momentum going as they look forward to an exciting future.
