FootballAt the start of the 2022-23 season, Kent Denver proudly welcomed Riley Newcomer to usher in an exciting new era of Sun Devils football. 

Prior to joining Kent Denver, Coach Newcomer coached for 10 years at the collegiate level, including as Interim Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. Coach Newcomer was also a standout on the field for the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he was a four-year letterman and All Conference running back. 

Coach Newcomer believes that a dynamic athletics and wellness program is essential to the overall growth and development of all students, and he is committed to continuing the Kent Denver football tradition of guiding players to develop a strong sense of teamwork, character and personal responsibility on and off the field.

“I pride myself in developing and fostering an environment for individuals to reach their highest potential, succeeding in their communities and doing so with character,” he says.
