The Kent Denver field hockey team has a long history of success in the state of Colorado. In addition to their 13 team state championships, the Sun Devils have routinely made deep postseason runs over the years.

Most recently, that includes finishing as a state runner-up in 2024, in addition to making two trips to the semifinals and one to the quarterfinals in the previous three seasons.

Interim Head Coach Emily Hazard was an integral part of the team as a lead assistant during those four years, and now she steps into this elevated lead role ahead of the fall 2025 season. A former Division 1 goalkeeper at the University of Massachusetts, she will look to draw on her experience as both a player and a coach to lead Kent Denver into an exciting season ahead.

“I aim to lead with purpose and passion as we support our athletes’ growth both on and off the field," says Coach Hazard.
