Dear Kent Denver Community,

I am humbled, honored, and excited to have the opportunity to serve as Kent Denver’s next Head of School. Joining such a strong, vibrant school community is a privilege that comes with the good fortune of getting to build upon the efforts of Rand Harrington, whose exceptional leadership has helped guide Kent Denver to new heights.

Your school has always been one that I have held in high regard and my recent visit only confirmed this impression. During my time on campus, I was truly impressed by the students, faculty, staff, and administration with whom I interacted. Through these interactions, it is clear that Kent Denver is one of those unique institutions that is able to balance tradition with innovation, that actively strives to meet the needs of each individual while maintaining a strong sense of community, and is a school where the health and wellbeing of students is viewed as a catalyst for programmatic excellence. This approach to education resonates with me and reflects a commitment to the development of active and engaged citizens.

Kent Denver is clearly in a position of strength within the independent school world and can take tremendous pride in all that it has accomplished. At the same time, if we are to live the school’s mission of “Transforming lives of students and community through extraordinary educational experiences,” there will always be work to do. I relish the opportunity to be an integral part of this process and am eager to learn from all of you as I deepen my understanding of what makes Kent Denver such a special place.  My wife, Timiny, and our three children, share in my excitement, as we are thrilled to be joining the Kent Denver community.

I would like to thank the Search Committee and the Board for leading such a thoughtful process that afforded me the opportunity to meet so many members of the Kent Denver community. Thank you to all of the faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and trustees, for being so generous with their time and so open to sharing their perspectives. I look forward to working with these varied constituents, all of whom are passionate about Kent Denver, as we endeavor to do what all great schools strive to do, to continue to get better.
