Sports Analytics Symposium: Friday, June 5

A novel way to implement data analysis into your curriculum

Sports provide us with rich data sets and compelling story lines, making it the perfect vehicle for introducing data analytics into any algebra, geometry, or precalculus class.

This one-day teaching symposium will consist of four guided explorations. Each exploration will provide a lesson plan which can be brought back to your school.

The symposium will be led by Kent Denver math teacher Arty Smith. Arty is an award-winning instructor with over 25 years of experience. He recently created a senior elective in Sports Analytics that has become wildly popular. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Arty has led the Kent Denver boys soccer team to five State Championships.
