Improvisational Fun and Games -Twisting Fairy Tales with Lee Lee Newcomb

Age: 7-10 | Time: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | Space: Black Box Theater | Cost: $45

Spend a morning exploring some old and new “twisted fairytales” through improvisational fun and games. Improvisation lets students play in the moment, connect, create, and discover through dialogue and movement while they explore their favorite fairy tales with a new twist. Using fairy tales old and new, students will uncover the perspectives, some of them warped, of their favorite characters.

What if the Beast really is a monster and Bell has attitude, or the Big, Bad Wolf isn’t quite so bad after all, or Cinderella turns out to be an obsessive liar, or the Frog Prince really wishes he had never been kissed. Actors will play wonderful stories from outrageously hilarious books like The True Story of the Three Little Pigs or The Prince Frog Continued. Students will create laughter-filled improvisations as they play their favorite characters from more than one point of view. This class is for creative, imaginative children who love to play, play, play.
