It might be cold outside, but Kent Denver's winter sports are red hot!
After great early-season performances by Kent Denver's swimming and diving team—including a tri-meet win over St. Mary's and Colorado Academy—the Sun Devils are ranked #2 in the state and have 19 swimmers ranked in the top 10 in a variety of events. The team has high hopes heading into the final month of regular season competition, with regional and state meets coming up late January and early February.
Boys' basketball, undefeated at 7-0, is currently ranked #5 in the state. Two players have scored more than 40 points in a single game this season and the team is averaging 70+ points per game overall.
The Sun Devils girls' basketball team played their first league game last night, defeating Jefferson by a 55-46 margin. The young squad currently has a 4-4 record with great momentum heading into the second half of the season.
In ice hockey, the Sun Devils are building on last year's successful playoff run, which included an appearance in the state semifinals. The team currently has a 6-2 record, including their most recent 8-1 win over Columbine.
