When the Denver Museum of Nature and Science was looking for presenters for their Mind & Brain Education Conference for K-12 educators, they found a wealth of expertise in Kent Denver's Science department! Teachers Kirsten Landry, Mary Fran Park and Raquel Sherman shared their techniques for leveraging cutting-edge neuroscience to help students learn.
The conference, which was held on Saturday, October 2, invited educators from across Colorado to learn evidence-based strategies to use in their own classrooms. Some of the questions posed in the conference included:
- How do we learn?
- How do we regulate emotion?
- What motivates and demotivates learners?
- The Science of Belonging & Agency
- The Adolescent Brain
Ms. Landry, Ms. Park and Ms. Sherman presented the following sessions during the conference.
