KDS Runners Post Big Wins in Early Season

Kent Denver's cross country team is looking strong in 2022, with KDS runners winning two major races to start the year.

In the opening race of the season, Molly Zann ‘25 took first place at the Washington Park Invitational with a blistering time of 18:40—a new Kent Denver girls’ record in the 5K run! She was one of three Sun Devils to place in the top 30 of the girls’ race, as Isa Del Castillo ‘23 came in 11th and Sally Carrington ‘24 finished 27th.

At the Lake County Invitational, a high-elevation race in Leadville over Labor Day Weekend, Kent Denver took second place in the girls' division with three runners placing in the top five! Isa Del Castillo won the race, followed closely by Molly Zann in second place and Sally Carrington in 5th place. The boys’ team also had a great showing, with Brendan Lindberg ‘24 and Bailey Thomas ‘23 leading the way in 12th and 13th place, respectively.

You can catch the team in action on campus at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 17 at the Sun Runner Invitational, Kent Denver's Game of the Week!
