KDS Community Rallies for Food, Coat Drives

This fall, the Kent Denver community came together to support back-to-back efforts collecting food and clothing donations for local non-profits.

Although classes were online during the last week of October, students, parents, faculty and staff made special trips to campus to drop off a record number of donations for our sixth-annual "Kans for Kristin" food drive. These donations—made in loving memory of teacher Kristin Brown—are helping Englewood's Integrated Family Community Services provide Thanksgiving food baskets for families during this time of increased need.

In early November, the Kent Denver Parents' Association held a massive "drive through" winter coat drive for Clothes to Kids Denver. KDS families donated nearly 300 jackets—many of them new—which will benefit DPS students as the weather turns colder this season.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers and donors who participated in these important efforts!
