Learning Innovation & Design

The Office of Innovation increases the capacity for educational professionals to explore, design, and share classroom and school innovations in order to enrich student experiences, advance education, and serve the greater good.

Supporting Instructional Innovation
Our experienced innovation staff partners with exceptional teachers to bring to the classroom innovation tools and processes that enhance instructional goals. These partnerships further teaching and learning, offering the capacity to co-design interdisciplinary learning goals that bring new perspectives to learning concepts, co-facilitate learning environments that allow students agency in demonstrating their learning, and co-construct learning resources that strengthen the learning environment.

Facilitating Institutional InnovationThrough our work on strategic and institutional projects, the Office of Innovation facilitates opportunities for institutional research and development. We collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to reimagine school systems, processes and experiences that advance Kent Denver’s mission and vision in order to meet the evolving challenges and opportunities of our hyper-connected, faster future.

Leading Educational Innovation Education is advanced when innovative ideas flow through learning communities with different perspectives, cultures, and needs. The Office of Innovation works to build a network of education professionals inside and outside Kent Denver with diverse strengths to collaborate as learners, sharers, and creators on a journey to harness today’s wisdom to unleash tomorrow’s extraordinary educational experiences.

The Social Labs Revolution: A New Approach to Solving Our Most Complex Problems by Zaid Hassan

In his book, Hassan proposes we have social labs to solve our most pressing social challenges just as scientific and technical labs research and solve pressing scientific and technical challenges. In the same vein, we see the Office of Innovation an educational lab, working to tackle educational issues. In no small part, Hassan’s three characteristics of socials labs— social, experimental and systematic—inspired the Office of Innovation’s values of strengthening partnerships, accelerating growth and catalyzing impact.
